Ministry Medical Group welcomes new hospitalist to Rhinelander
Dr. Tran recently joined the medical staff of Ministry Saint Mary's Hospital as a hospitalist.
Hospitalists are internal medicine physicians who specialize in caring for patients who have been hospitalized. In many areas of the country, personal physicians are referring their patients to a hospitalist when their patients are sick enough that they can no longer be cared for in the outpatient setting, the health care organization said in a press release.
Dr. Tran specializes in the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. He has a clinical interest in dermatology and working with patients with diabetes. He enjoys understanding diseases and fixing their root cause.
He received his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W.Va. He completed his residence in osteopathic internal medicine at Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, Va. While serving in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Tran completed coursework at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Mary-land. His undergraduate degree is from Univer-sity of Arizona, Tucson. He is certified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support.
"As an osteopathic physician, I believe all people have innate healing powers and that the patient is a person, not a disease," said Dr. Tran. "Successful treatment involves fixing the cause of the condition, not just alleviating the symptoms. Every patient is a unique human being and can't be treated with medical formulas or cookbook medicine."
In his spare time, Dr. Tran is passionate about continuing to learn and grow. He enjoys traveling, fishing, mountain biking, boating, and reading about astronomy. He's a self-described foodie who loves food and is an adventurous eater. Dr. Tran is also looking forward to learning to hunt in the Northwoods.
