RHS dance team wins national title
RHS dance team wins national title
The Hodags took first place out of five teams in the varsity small school Hip Hop division. It is the fifth national title that the Hodags have earned in the Hip Hop category. They also performed their Jazz routine and received an Academic Excellence Award for having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
This is the seventh year that the team has competed at this event (formerly UPA Nationals) under the direction of head coach Tricia Winter, who just completed her eighth year of coaching.
The team is also coached by Bailey Welch.
Escorting them through town in recognition of their achievement were the Rhinelander Police Department, Rhinelander Fire Department and the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
"The team is most appreciative of their support," the team said in a press release. "They are additionally thankful for the continued support of the school administration and community businesses that assisted them in making their way to this event."

The team also thanks "the entire community for their support of the referendum."
