Rita Wege, MS, has started providing counseling services at the Transitions Center in Rhinelander. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology at UW-Stevens Point and is a recent graduate from Southern New Hampshire University with a master's degree in mental health and substance abuse counseling. As part of that training, she did 600 hours of internships at St. Mary's Hospital and at Transitions Center.

Wege has worked and lived in the Northwoods for her entire life, according to a Transitions Center press release. During the last three years, she has worked in the fields of alcohol and drug abuse, treating autism clients and their families, and serving on a crisis intervention team, the release states. Wege has a special interest in providing counseling services to adolescents and adults who are experiencing personal struggles with depression and anxiety, improving their relationships, and getting free from alcohol and drug abuse. She also has a special interest in mindfulness-based therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.

Wege is available to see clients who have health insurance, and through employee assistance programs, as well as private pay individuals and those who may have no health insurance. She will be available by appointment several days and early evenings.

Transitions Center is an outpatient Mental Health, and Alcohol and Drug Treatment clinic located at 22 N. Pelham St. in Rhinelander. To set up an initial meeting, call (715) 365-6696.
