Crescent students celebrate the 100th day of school
"Ms. Pekoc led students in a writing activity that involved them writing 100 words," the release states. "The students were given 10 different categories and instructed to write 10 words into each category. The students skip counted by 10s to count all of the words. The students also assembled puzzles that contained 100 pieces. Last, the students wrote about what they would like to have 100 of. Popular responses were money, pets and candy. In Mrs. Denis' classroom, the students were given bubble gum to chew 100 times. After they chewed and counted, they could blow the biggest bubble possible. Then the students wrote the numbers 1 to 100 on a graph. They also discussed what their lives would be like if they were 100 years old. Mrs. Deitz led the students in an estimation station. The students had to guess if the number of objects in a bag was exactly 100, less than 100 or more than 100. Then the students played a mystery number game by coloring specific numbers on the 100s chart. Once the specific numbers were called, the number 100 appeared. Finally, Mrs. Deitz read '100 Years Ago' and the students compared their lives with people that lived 100 years ago."
