Rhinelander Swim Club wins conference divisional meet
The divisional meet was a qualifier for the CWSC Championship meet that will take place this Saturday and Sunday in Black River Falls. In order to qualify for the conference championships, athletes needed to place in the top nine in their individual events or in the top six as part of a relay team. Rhinelander Swim Club can boast that every one of its 55 swimmers have advanced by meeting those requirements.
Considering the youngest swimmers on the team are only 6 years old, this is quite the accomplishment.
"As coaches, we couldn't be prouder of our swimmers," RSC coach Jenny Heck said. "To have everyone advance to the Championship meet in at least one event is a goal that we have all worked hard to achieve."
Heading to Black River Falls this weekend in their age groups are:
8 & Under: Brock Arrowood, Micheal Schiek, Samson Shinners, Olin Slette, Eva Heck, Emma Houg, Vivian Lamers, Hayley Schiek, Kadyn Taylor, Ellyse Younker and the three six-year-old swimmers on the team Zeva Barrett, Ella Heck and Ella Miljevich.
9-10: Lucas Haselton, Charlie Heck, James Heck, Zachariah King, Eli Lundt, Sam Schoppe, Nandinerdene Battulga, Claire Casleton, Ella Cordy, Madeleine Ewan, Morgan Louis, Sarah Marshall, Madelyn Mathwig, Sophia Miljevich, Annalyse Schoppe, Payton Seidl and Abi Winnicki.
11-12: Jack Antonuk, Daniel Gillingham, Jacob Schoppe, Maria Heck, Lisa Kennedy, Ava Lamers, Houston Mathwig, Phoebe Moran, Audrey Schiek, Ella Schiek, Sage Schultz, Noelle St. Pierre and Sierra Woodford.
13-14: Joseph Heck, Thaddeus Heck, David King, Trevor Marvin, Hannah Hoffhein, Taylor Hollands, Marisa McGuire, Maddie Quinn, Tillie Statezny and Makenna Winnicki.
15-19 Grace Heck and Taylor Macak.
