Two Nicolet College representatives recently presented a workshop at a national higher education conference attended by more than 2,000 college trustees and higher education professionals.

Sharon Nielsen, a trustee on the Nicolet Board, and Chuck Komp, managing director of strategic initiatives at Nicolet, presented Making Sense of it All - Using Business Intelligence to Understand and Navigate the Changing Community College Landscape at the 47th Annual Association of Community College Trustees Leadership Congress.

The presentation focused on how Nicolet uses demographic and economic data to guide college planning and create pathways for more area residents to obtain a college education.

"Having access to high-quality data leads to better decision-making, and our ability to generate it in-house puts Nicolet way ahead of most institutions our size," Nicolet President Richard Nelson commented during a Board of Trustees meeting where Komp and Nielsen reported on their experience.

While at the conference the two also attended numerous presentations focused on higher education issues including federal financial aid, federal legislative priorities, and social issues on campuses, along with other topics.
