RIA Squirts take second in New Richmond
The Rhinelander Ice Association's squirt hockey team coached by Dave Denis and Kelsy Rea competed in the Joe Swanda Memorial Squirt B Tournament Dec. 10 and 11 in New Richmond, placing second in the event.

On Dec. 10, the Hodags skated strong, beating Northern Edge 4-2. That evening, in a close game, they bested the Inver Grove Heights Spartans 6-5. That highlight featured a hat trick by the Hodags' Dalton Fritz.

The Hodags advanced to the championship Dec. 11, where they fell to the Des Moines Buccaneers 7-0.
