Hodag seventh-graders take 12th in LCT
Playing seven games in all, through pool and bracket play, the girls ended up in 12th place out of the 32 participating teams.
Rhinelander went 2-1 in pool play, falling to Stevens Point Red 21-14 before defeating Neillsville 32-27 and Durand 29-14.
The Hodags lost their Round of 16 game against Cochrane-Fountain City 30-27 to fall into the ninth-to-16th-place bracket. There, Rhinelander defeated Eau Claire Eagles Purple 23-18 before closing out the tournament with losses to Colfax and Osseo Fairchild.
Eighth graders go 3-1 at Lakeland
The RBA eighth-grade team finished second in its pool and went 3-1 Saturday, Dec. 3 in a GNBL tournament at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua.
The Hodags opened the day with a 38-31 win over Prentice, lost to D.C. Everest 32-17 and closed out pool play with a 40-18 win over Ashland. The team ended the day with a crossover game against Lakeland, which it won 41-37.
