James Williams Middle School students kicked off the holiday concert season Tuesday evening, performing an instrumental and choral concert before a standing-room only crowd. The sixth-grade band played "First Rockin' Christmas" and "A Snowy Christmas Day," and the sixth-grade chorus sang "We Need a Little Christmas" and "Swing Into Christmas." The seventh-grade band played "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and added a warm beach feel with "Caribbean Christmas." The seventh- and eighth-grade chorus sang "What Will Santa Claus Say?" and "Christmas at the Movies," while the eighth-grade band played "Fantasy on 'O Tannenbaum'" and "A Holiday Happening." More school concerts are scheduled for next week. The RHS band and chorus concert is set for 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Crescent Elementary School will hold its concert from 8:45 to 11 a.m. Dec. 14 at RHS. Pelican students will perform from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m. Dec. 15 at RHS. The NCES concert is set for 9 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 16. at RHS. Central Intermediate students will perform from 9:30 to 11:30 and 2 to 3:15 p.m. Dec. 20 at RHS.
