Newbold Outdoor Recreation Area gains trail sponsor
"The Trails Council is pleased to be able to be the major sponsor of walking/hiking trail at the Newbold Outdoor Recreation Area," OCBWTC president Jackie Cody said in a press release. "The forest trail is one and four tenths miles in length over gently hilly terrain. The trail meets the Council's goals of physical activity, affordable to all county residents, and adds economic benefit to local economy."
"The town of Newbold is happy to receive the trail sponsorship," said town clerk Kim Gauthier. "The trail still has work to be completed with two small boardwalks and root removal for safe walking conditions. The trail will be marked and be usable for snowshoeing in the winter. We look forward to possible opening yet this year."
Donations supporting the Newbold walking trail can be sent to town of Newbold, P.O. Box 1063 Rhinelander, WI 54501.
Donations will be used for plant life signage along the trail and trail maintenance.
