April 21 Invite
The Hodags turned in a number of strong performances in the April 21 invite against John Muir and Prairie River, perhaps most notable was the performance of the boys' distance crew.
Abe Laggis led a Hodag sweep of the top four positions in the 1,600-meter run. Jaden Beske and Daniel Ritchie tied for second and Konnor Kennedy finished fourth. Laggis also the won the 800, with fellow Hodags finishing in four of the next five positions.
The Hodag boys won the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays, Walker Hartman won both the long jump and triple jump, and finished second in the 400. Chase Hunt won the 100-meter dash and took third in the high jump, an event won by Hodag teammate Calvin Schneider. Chase Redmond took the shot put with teammates Trevor Knapp and Ben Sinclair tying for third.
The Hodag girls scored three event victories - Trecci Spencer in the 100, Madi Losch in the high jump and the 4x400 relay with the team of Jade Forster, Lisa Kennedy, Losch and Marissa Martin.
April 26 Meet
The results were just as strong for the Hodags in Tuesday's invite against Medford and Horace Mann.
The girls' throwing unit particularly stood out, sweeping the top five spots in the discus toss. Nevaeh Forster won the event, followed by Madison Carpenter, Abbigial Koch, Olivia Turgeon and Victoria Parshall. Parshall won the shot put for the Hodags with Koch finishing third.
The Hodag boys, meanwhile, were strong in the sprint events. Nick Kriesel, Hunt and Drake Martin swept the top three spots in the 100. Kriesel, Martin, Seth Stafford, Caleb Olcikas and Redmond claimed the top five spots in the 200, while Hartman, Hunter Greyhair and John Krueger went 1-2-3 in the 400.
Abe Laggis won both the 800 and the 1,600, Martin and Hartman finished 1-2 in the long jump, and the Hodags swept all for boys' relay races.
Meanwhile, the Hodag girls' added a number of runner-up finishes to their tally, including Martin in the 400, Losch in the 200, Morgan Johnson in the 200 hurdles, Kendra Durkee in the high jump. JWMS also finished second in the girls' 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
