Third annual Martinis in May set for May 7
The martini-making competition will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Whitetail Inn in St. Germain.
The Whitetail Inn will provide signature hors d' oeuvres and Tony Ocean will entertain the crowd throughout the evening.
"Tony Ocean's upbeat style takes us back in time to a musical era that will be sure to please audiences of all ages," the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce said in a press release announcing the event. "He performs popular songs from Sinatra, Davis, Martin, Bennett and Jones to name a few."
There will be two martini making competition categories: People's Choice presented by Cedaroma Lodge and Judge's Choice presented by St. Germain Sports Marine. The Judge's Choice winner will be selected by three local celebrities, including WJFW Newswatch 12's Jeanine Ilacqua. The People's Choice winner will be chosen through ballots turned in by all who attend Martinis in May. In 2015, Clearview Supper Club won the Peoples Choice Martini award with their Draper Martini and Spang's Italian Restaurant won the Judge's Choice Award with their Bombay Slammer Martini.
In 2015, over 170 guests attended Martinis in May with over 30 percent of them traveling from outside the Northwoods. This year's event will be capped at 200 guests, so be sure to sign up today.
Martinis in May is hosted by the Whitetail Inn, and sponsored by the St. Germain Area Chamber of Commerce, Grey Goose Vodka, Bacardi Rum, St. Germain Liqueur, 5 Star Marketing, St. Germain Sport Marine and Cedaroma Lodge. Advance tickets can be purchased at the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce or online at www.St-Germain.com. Tickets are $30 per person, $10 for designated driver or $35 at the door. Money raised at Martinis in May will support the St. Germain Beautification Fund.
