Rhinelander's Fourth of July parade theme and route announced
The annual parade will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 4 . The theme this year is America: The Proud and The Beautiful. The theme pays homage to the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, organizers said in a press release.
While some downtown roads may be under construction, that won't stop the parade coordinators. This year's parade will start at Davenport by the courthouse, run south along Pelham Street, and then north on to Courtney Street. The Rhinelander Lions Kiddie Parade will run the same route, but end at City hall.
"There has been a lot of interest in the Fourth of July parade," said RACC Executive Director Bill Clow. "We are excited that the community will get to continue with this fun and important tradition!"
Area businesses, families, schools, groups and non-profits are encouraged to participate. Applications can be picked up at the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce or found online at www.ExploreRhinelander.com.
Antique cars, new or sharp cars and trucks are needed to lead sponsored units. Awards will be given to the following parade unit categories: Non-Profit, Business, Marching and General.
