Brekke's Fireside Resort named finalist in Wisconsin Lodging cover contest
This week, Brekke's Fireside Resort was named one of the 12 cover finalists for the 2017 Wisconsin Lodging Directory, according to a press release issued by resort owner Dan Brekke and the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce.
"Every year the Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association calls for lodging members from across the state to enter photos that showcase the excitement and beauty that Wisconsin Lodging has to offer," the release states. "The winning photo is featured on the cover of the Wisconsin Lodging Directory for the upcoming year."
After the first round of judging, Brekke's Fireside Resort was named a finalist.
Brekke's Fireside Resort is the only finalist north of Highway 29 and is competing against lodgers from areas like Lake Geneva and Door County.
"We are so excited that a quality Northwoods Resort like Brekke's has made it to the finals of a statewide contest, let alone be the only finalist north of Highway 29," said Lauren Sackett, tourism & event coordinator at the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce. "The photo they submitted is beautiful and we really hope the Northwoods community will vote."
Anyone can vote for Brekke's Fireside Resort to be the cover of the 2017 Wisconsin Lodging Directory by visiting http://wisconsinlodging.org/covercontest.
Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, April 26.
"Located in the heart of Wisconsin's Northwoods, Brekke's has been a family owned and operated resort for over 45 years," the release notes. "They feature lakeside cottages in a peaceful bay of Lake George, three miles east of Rhinelander."
