RBA seventh-grade team places 12th at state

The Rhinelander Basketball Association's seventh-grade girls' traveling team finished in 12th place out of 27 teams in Division 2 of the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament, held April 9 and 10 in the greater Wausau area.

The Hodags went 1-1 in pool play, defeating Nicolet 26-23 and falling to Onalaska 33-29, to advance to the round of 16.

The Hodags lost their final game April 9 to Ashwaubenon, 29-26, to fall into the ninth-to-16th-place pool.

Rhinelander opened pool play April 10 with a 40-36 win over Hortonville, but fell to Monona Grove 43-38 and Plymouth 39-25 to finish in 12th place.
