"How does one live to 100?" "Lots of walking and eating lots of vegetables and fruits!" said Lorraine Preboske.

Family and friends gathered for a birthday celebration Tuesday, March 29 at Bell Tower Residence Assisted Living in Merrill, the center said in a press release.

Lorraine was bornĀ in Antigo where she married Felix Preboske.

Together they had four children - Peter, Lynne, Paul and David.

Peter and Paul are deceased along with her loving husband. Lorraine spent most of her life in Merrill. She has eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They bring joy and happiness to her life, along with her caring friends and her church family, the release states.

Lorraine was a visiting nurse in Milwaukee, worked 11 years as a nurse at Pine Crest, and also did private duty nursing. During her retirement years Lorraine volunteered at the Community Food Pantry for 25 years.

She loved to travel and was an avid sports fan. She loved to play golf and bridge, and enjoyed the company of the Red Hatters. Now, her special interests are reading and word puzzles.
