Numerous people enjoyed the museum, the Green Treasure Forest Tour, food at the Choo Choo Hut Restaurant, and shopping in the Cracker Barrel Gift Shop. The Haunted Slaughter House has also been popular, Camp 5 officials say, the release said.
On Saturday, Oct. 3, the Green Bush-Wackers, a group of cowboy reenactors, are returning.
"Cowboys, outlaws, and people from all walks of life from the 1800s Old West, all dressed in the clothing of the era, will be on the Lumberjack Steam Train, as well as stopping the train for a robbery and a good ol' fashioned western shootout!" Camp 5 officials said. "There always seems to be a robbery every time the train makes a run from the vintage depot located on Highway 8 on Laona's west side. The Cowboys are always a special event when they visit the Camp 5 Museum complex. Horse lovers will enjoy the mounts, vintage gun lovers will be a little envious of the arms carried by the Cowboys, the action is fast-paced, and it is a great time for all!"
The Lumberjack Steam Train leaves the depot at 11 a.m. and every hour on the hour until the last run at 2 p.m. Food is available on the grounds, and the Cracker Barrel store is well-stocked, the release states.
