According to a St. Germain Chamber press release five teams took part in the tournament - Foosa-Roma, K-Team, Estrold's Foos-Fighters, Refoos to Loose and Team Nampel.
"The double elimination human foosball tournament was just as much fun to play in as it was to watch," the chamber stated. "Up until Saturday, not many people from northern Wisconsin were familiar with the YouTube sensation of Human Foosball. However spectators came out in numbers to check it out. Multi-generations of families enjoyed our 'open' foosball pick-up games from 11-2. It was great fun!"
The adult tournament started off at 3 p.m. with a battle between two teams that eventually made it to the championship game. Team Nampel beat Estrold's Foos-Fighters 4-1.
Estrold's played their way through the losers' bracket back to the championship game. In order to win, Estrolds' had to beat Team Nampel twice to claim top prize, and that is exactly what they did. The final championship game came down to double overtime before Estrold's came up with the winning goal.
Based on the response to this year's tournament, the
St. Germain Chamber has already announced plans for next year's event, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at the 57th Annual Colorama.
