Motorcycles and bikers were seen all over Tomahawk this weekend as the community hosted the 34th annual Tomahawk Fall Ride for MDA.

Those in attendance had the opportunity to participate in the Thunder Parade, the lawnmower tractor races and the motorized barstool races.

They could also purchase a wide variety of gear and merchandise ranging from chaps, saddlebags, Harley-Davidson items, hats, pins, sweatshirts and more.

"There's a lot of variety (with the vendors)," said Kari Hohnl, a third-time attendee. "Anything you need when you get up here if you didn't bring the right weather gear you can get it here so that's nice."

Amongst the sounds of music, chatter and engines was plenty of food. The savory aroma of fryer foods, pulled pork, Italian beef, brats, burgers and more mingled with the scent of fuel.

"The food is great, it's all good food," said Jeff Ludwikowski.

He said he likes everything about the Fall Ride. In his mind, the event is even better than another well-known biker gathering.

"It's a great time, it really is, it's a lot of fun, it's better than Sturgis," he said.

Hohnl enjoyed seeing the wide variety of people that turned out for the event.

"(I like) people watching, there's a lot of different kinds of people and everybody's really nice and it's a nice long ride up here," she said. "It's always a good time, gets a little rowdy at night but it's nice and family-friendly during the day so that's good."

She wasn't the only one who liked the interactions of the other attendees.

"I love the camaraderie between the people, I love the cool bikes, it's great to walk around, it's just a good group of people," said Michael Sands, who has lost count of how many years he has attended the Fall Ride.

He thinks the variety of food and merchandise vendors is a good mix.

Sands was happy that the weather was nice, not too cool or rainy.

"(The Fall Ride is) absolutely wonderful," said Chad Gribble, a first-time attendee.

He liked seeing the wide variety of bikes, and was thrilled to see an old classic Indian.

Gribble said he will come again.
