Fall brings big changes to the Hodag Farmers Market
By By Virginia Mootz-
Did you know a farmers market is an awesome place to stop when filling a care package for your favorite college student? I don't think there is better way to say, "we love you" or "we are thinking about you" than with a box of goodies filled with tasty and useful local products from the Hodag Farmers Market. To make things even easier here is your care package shopping list:
• Homemade lip balm and soap in a sweater
• A fresh loaf of bread
• Bumbleberry jam
• Garden salsa (Don't forget the chips)
• Dill pickles
• Pickled pea pods (Be brave and try them)
• A brightly colored handmade rug.
• Fresh apples (Just rinse them off and ready to eat.)
The Hodag Farmers Market is held every Saturday morning in Pioneer Park on Oneida Avenue from 8 a.m. to noon.
If you wish to use credit, debit cards, or EBT cards, be sure to look for John, he will help you use your card to purchase tokens that can be used with most market vendors. As in other years, WIC and Senior Nutrition checks are also accepted by most vendors. Hope to see you at the market this weekend.
