Local author and illustrator to share talent with community through cartooning class
Participants will leave the class with a basic understanding of the way cartoon and comic characters are created and how to take the most basic shapes and transform them into comical characters, the district said in a press release.
"This class is great for anyone of any age to build the confidence to know that they can create art," the release states.
Barnett is the creator of the popular online comic strip "The Lil' Miesters," author and illustrator of "I brought a Hodag to School," the creator of "Bob the Hodag" and a member of the National Cartoonists Society. The class is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Rhinelander High School Room 131.
The class is open to anyone from third grade to adult. The fee is $15/person. Participants are encouraged to bring a sketchbook and pencil to class.
Pre-registration is required. The registration deadline is Nov. 11. The course number is 2015-26.
