She was born in Chicago, Ill. on July 26, 1964 to Wolfgang Remers and Theresia "Resi" Remers-Schreiber. Lisa moved with her family to the Elcho area and graduated in 1982 from Elcho High School. On Dec. 30, 1983 Lisa married Wade Flanery. They had two daughters, Heather and Tamara Flanery.
Lisa especially enjoyed the years she worked alongside her mother, Resi, at the Pelican Lake Supper Club. A gifted chef, she went on to establish two award-winning restaurants, the first in Appleton and the second in Rifle, Colo. In addition to her passion for cooking, she loved to travel with her husband, visiting and spending time with her grandchildren, her family and her many close friends.
Preceding Lisa in death were her mother Resi and her stepfather Gerd Schreiber.
She is survived by her husband, Wade Flanery, Wausau; daughter, Heather Flanery; grandsons, Honon, Arlo and Lyle, Wausau; and daughter, Tamara Flanery, San Juan, Puerto Rico; father, Wolfgang Remers (Pat), West Bend; brother, Fred Remers (Tammy), Jackson; stepbrother, Franz Schreiber (Brenda), Black Earth; nieces, nephews and many special friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 14, 2015 at the Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau. Rev. Wes Jedras will officiate. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and again on Wednesday from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
