This is the ninth year the churches have put together a spread of turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
"The churches work together to purchase turkeys, cook them and then on Thanksgiving morning everything is heated and the meals are prepared in individual containers and then out the door they go," said David Ditzler, a volunteer for approximately seven years.
About 50 to 60 volunteers have a hand in spreading the holiday cheer. All of their hard work yields an average of 320 to 330 meals a year.
"It feels really wonderful to work with a large group of people to just show our community that we care about them and there's a lot of people who are grateful and it just connects the church and the community together," Ditzler said.
Anyone can get a tasty Thanksgiving meal delivered to their door. All they have to do is give their name, location and the number of meals they need. Volunteers will start making deliveries around 11 a.m.
"People are just so grateful that there are others in the community who are thinking about them and willing to do a little extra to take care of them on the holiday," Ditzler said of those who will be receiving meals.
