Bell Tower Residence Assisted Living, Merrill, recently raised $6,209 in its third annual Walk to End Dementia. Money raised will go toward the development of a Memory Café.

A Memory Café is a gathering place for people with early stages of dementia and their care partners.

"The Memory Café will have different activities and programs at each meeting such as music, singing, games, presentations, guest speakers and refreshments," the assisted living facility said in a press release. "It will be free and open to the public."

Community sponsors for the walk were Holy Cross Sisters, Ministry Health Care and Merrill Federal Savings and Loan. Plans for next year's event include a 5K run.
