Ministry Health Care names Sandra Anderson to leadership role


Ministry Health Care has announced Sandra Anderson has accepted the role of regional vice president for Ministry Health Care's Northern Region and president of the Northern Region Hospitals.
She will begin her new responsibilities July 6, and report directly to Daniel E. Neufelder, president and CEO of Ministry Health Care.
In her new role, Anderson will be responsible for directing the daily operations and overall performance of Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital (Tomahawk), Ministry Saint Mary's Hospital (Rhinelander), Howard Young Medical Center (Woodruff), Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital (Eagle River) and Howard Young Found-ation.
An-derson comes to Ministry's northern region from St. Clare Hospital & Health Services in Baraboo, where she has served as president since 2002.
Anderson also was named the regional vice president of affiliates of SSM of Wisconsin (SSMW) in Madison in 2012. Prior to joining St. Clare's, she held positions at Greene Memorial Hospital, Inc. in Xenia, Ohio, and Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
"Under her leadership, St. Clare's established a freestanding urgent care center and multi-specialty clinic; developed and implemented a joint venture bringing in-house MRI services to St. Clare's; created a state-of-the-art birthing center and endoscopy suites; established a radiation oncology center; and developed a healthy living center providing medical managed weight loss services to rural Wisconsin," the health care organization said in a press release.
"Through role modeling the mission, vision and values, Anderson led St. Clare's through a major cultural transformation resulting in significant improvement in patient satisfaction scores, employee engagement scores and a physician engagement scores."
Anderson holds a master's degree in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University-Dayton Extension and a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from UW-Milwaukee.
She is also a diplomat member of the American College of Health Care Executives.
Anderson has served on the Home Health United board of directors, St. Clare Health Care Foundation board of directors, St. Mary's/Dean Joint Ventures board of directors, Wisconsin Academy of Rural Medicine Steering Committee, Baraboo National Bank board of directors, Baraboo Economic Development Council, South Central Wisconsin Boys and Girls Club board of directors, the State of Wisconsin Legislative Council on Health Access, Wisconsin Hospital Association board of directors and is a member of the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board, Region 5.
