Artarama seeking young artists for July show
Show set for July 18
The Artarama Committee is seeking talented young artists to exhibit/sell their work at the Young at Art tent. This special section of Artarama features an entire tent displaying the handmade creations of young artists 18 and younger.
"Our young artists have been very innovative in past years, having created oil paintings, earrings, 3-D greeting cards and airbrushed T-shirts," said Artarama Young At Art Chairperson Lori Hahn. "Our mission is to encourage young artists to explore their talent and to feel a sense of accomplishment."
"Many people tell us that the art is as interesting and diversified as their adult counterparts at the show."
Hahn said the criteria for applying is simple.
"Each artist must be responsible for producing 75 percent of the artwork or craft item," she said. "The remaining 25 percent of the items may be completed with assistance from a family member, friend or teacher. The artist must be the one selling the pieces, and must be prepared to demonstrate the craft and its method of construction. No manufactured, finished items will be allowed for resale. Youths may apply for one of two age categories - age 14 and under, or ages 15 to 18. Children under age 12 need one adult present at their table for supervision during the day of show. One family or two friends may share a space, which is a 4'x4' table, for a $15 space fee to reserve for the one-day show."
Applications are available at the Olson Memorial Library in Eagle River, the Demmer Library in Three Lakes, Rhinelander Public Library and the Land O'Lakes Library, as well as at the Northwoods Childrens Museum and LOLA. Applications may also be requested by calling Lori at (7150 891-3428 or emailing hahngirl62@hot

Interested young artists are encouraged to return the completed applications as soon as possible as space is limited.
The deadline for applications is June 28, 2014.
