Hundreds flocked to downtown Tomahawk Sunday to look at classic vehicles at the annual Main Street Memories Car Show.

The overcast sky didn't deter car enthusiasts as they meandered up and down the lines of cars and trucks.

"It's always fun, we always have a good time down here," said Ronald Mudt, owner of a 1960 Chevy El Camino. "I think you get quite a variety of people and cars down here."

This is the 12th year he has had a vehicle in the show. His El Camino is completely customized with a 350 engine, five-speed tranmission, custom bumpers, paint, taillights and interior.

Mudt said he'd probably be back next year.

Matthew Zack had a 1974 Dodge Challenger Rally car in the show. Its factory numbers match a 360 four-speed car, he said.

This was the first time he had a car in the Main Street Memories Car Show.

"It's pretty enjoyable, pretty comfortable," Zack said.

He thought the number of vehicles on hand was about average. He said he's been to larger shows but plans to visit Tomahawk again.

Donald Mead has attended the Tomahawk show every year since 2011.

He loves seeing all the vehicles but is partial to the Mustang and Model T.

"The Mustang came out in '63 when I was a young man, but the Model T - I used to play in those things when I was a kid," he said. "(The Model T would) be wrecked, they'd be sitting out in the yard and nobody cared about them and they would sit there."

He said he enjoys the show, especially learning the history of the vehicles.

"I think this is an excellent exhibition," Mead said. "It gives kids a sense of history and they ask and these people that own these love to talk about them."

Darrell Kestler has attended the car show for 12 years.

"There's a lot of fantastic stuff here," he said.

Kestler loves the 1914 Model T, whose engine was softly running as he spoke.

"The weather's perfect and the cars are fantastic and the people - there's a lot of them," Kestler said.
