Th event will benefit Jonathan Ottman, 26. Ottman is the assistant manager at GameStop, but has been unable to work since he became ill.
Ottman was diagnosed with a lung cancer, metastatic adenocarcinoma, in December. The cancer, which is very rare in a person his age, has since metastasized to his brain and other areas, according to family members.
Cost to attend the benefit is $15 at the door.
"This party seriously is a blast," said Denise Chojnacki, Zumba instructor and event organizer. "Usually most people who come want to come again because it's so fun."
There will be a break halfway through the event at which time people can participate in a raffle. Tickets will be one for $2 or three for $5.
Prizes will come from Latitudes, the YMCA of the Northwoods, DC Health and Fitness, Subway and 31 Gifts.
"We have instructors come from Wausau, Antigo, Minocqua, so it's kind of a collaborative effort in the area..." Chojnacki said.
The instructors have been in contact with one another so music won't be duplicated.
Chojnacki has had a lot of people talk to her about the benefit, so she thinks there will be a good turnout.
"I usually have a party twice a year for charity events, so then whatever is the need at that time that's how I determine what the party is going to benefit," Chojnacki said.
She said dancers should wear comfortable fitness clothes and shoes. Water will be provided but people are welcome to bring their own.
Donations may be made through Ottman's GoFundMe page at http://www.gofundme.com/jc507s or to the Jonathan Ottman Benefit Fund at Peoples State Bank.
