'Strike Out Cancer' eagle artwork donated to Marshfield Clinic Oncology
Erickson hand painted the eagle and donated it to the Feb. 14 "Strike Out Cancer" fundraiser as a raffle prize. The raffle winner decided to donate the eagle to Marshfield Clinic cancer services departments.
"In my family, I lost a sister at a young age to cancer, and I have another in my family who is a survivor," Erickson said. "I have made it my goal to help eradicate breast cancer. The annual 'Strike Out Cancer' bowling fundraiser and the eagle artwork are ways that I can help."
Fundraising events and donations like this artwork have a tremendous impact for Clinic patients in the Northwoods.
"Local philanthropy allows us to provide additional research, support groups and resource materials for patients facing cancer," said Shellie Donovan, R.N., Marshfield Clinic Breast Care coordinator. "The lovely eagle, with its positive message of celebrating life, helps encourage patients in our waiting room."
