Lakeland Performing Arts presents 'An Evening with Rebecca and Kuba'
The performance will begin at 7 p.m.
The appearance is part of the Lakeland Performing Arts Association Concert Series and is sponsored in part by grants from the Wisconsin Arts Board and the Northern Arts Council.
Jakub Kuba Kawnik, born in Poland, has been playing different instruments since he was 5 years old. His primary instrument is the vibratone, but he also plays drums, guitar, violin, and a couple of obscure instruments, the theramin and the kalimba. Kuba provides accompaniment for his wife, Rebecca, usually on the guitar.
Rebecca Lowe, Kuba's wife, was born and raised in Texas. She showcases her voice in a variety of Broadway, pops, jazz and gospel musical selections.
Rebecca and Kuba have garnered fame and rave reviews from audiences throughout Europe and the Americas on land as well as on the sea in such cruise ships such as Silversea, Princess, NCL, Celebrity, Royal Carribean, Oceania and Crystal, according to a press release from the event organizers. They had a highly successful 17 concert tour in mid-America in the fall of 2012.
Their set list will include many familiar tunes, including "Tico Tico," "Flight of the Bumble Bee," "Moon River," "In the Hall of the Mountain King," "Czardas," "Only You" and "Baby Elephant Walk."
