WPS grant supports food pantry efforts to reduce energy costs
"We are making this contribution because we believe your organization benefits our community, and because we have a long history of supporting worthwhile programs that better the lives of our neighbors," WPS stated. "In return for this support, we ask only that you continue your dedication to the community."
With the Focus on Energy grant and the WPS donation, RAFP was able to replace all interior and exterior incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs and replace all the fluorescent fixtures with new energy efficient units and bulbs. The estimated energy savings is calculated at $1,100 per year, and although there are now half as many bulbs in many places, the lighting is better than before.
"This was a great project," said RAFP executive director Guy Hansen. "The food pantry lighting is better and more energy efficient. Our many thanks to Focus on Energy and Wisconsin Public Service for making this possible."
