Laser Pros 3, Eagle River 11
Rhinelander's Laser Pros team fell to Eagle River in the first game of Tuesday night's Babe Ruth doubleheader at Hodag Park, although they put up a good fight considering the team was missing a few key players in the lineup.
Eagle River got the early jump on Laser Pros, scoring two runs in the first inning and four more runs in the third.
Laser Pros scored once in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth inning. Eagle River also scored two runs in the fifth inning extending the lead to 8-3. Eagle River tacked on three more runs in the seventh inning and shut out Laser Pros to end the ball game 11-3.
Tait Spencer got the starting nod at pitcher for Laser Pros, throwing four innings, striking out three batters.
Matt Reinthaler came in to pitch in the fifth inning and struck out two.
Spencer scored one run in the game on one hit and drew a walk. Reinthaler had two hits and a stolen base.
Bryce Schickert brought in one run on one hit. Seth Stafford scored one run and drew two walks. Isaiah Piosalan scored a run and Ryan Mullen drove in a run on a ground out to third base.

Rhinelander 3 beat Rhinelander 1 in the second Babe Ruth matchup of the night
11-1.
Rhinelander 1 sent Brad Comer to the mound to start the game. Comer pitched 4 2/3 innings, striking out four batters. Connor Cooper came in the game in relief during the fifth and pitched the remaining inning and a third, striking out two batters.
Rhinelander 3 had Alec Modrow pitch all five innings. He recorded seven strike outs. Modrow helped his own cause, scoring two runs on two hits, one of which was a double. Modrow drove in a run and stole two bases.
Danny Zuiker scored once on two hits, one was a double, stole a base and drove in three runs.
Cole Spaulding scored one run on two hits and drove in one. Logan Wild scored once and drove in a run with a double.
Jacob Dreifuerst scored one run on two hits and drove in one. Jake Wilmot scored one run on one hit and stole a base.
Teagan Guckenberg scored one run on one hit, stole a base and drew a walk. Logan Oestreich score twice with one hit, walked once and drove in a run.
Nate Cogar laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Dreifuerst to second base.
Rhinelander 1 shut out Rhinelander 3 in three innings. Two innings were the difference in the ball game.
Comer scored one run on one hit and had a sacrifice fly to advance a base runner. Asher Johnson had one hit driving in Comer and one stolen base. Martin Hoger and Seth Hargraves both had hits in the game.

Laser Pros 18, Rhinelander-2 7
Laser Pros scored in every inning except the second Monday as it raced past Rhinelander 2 18-7 at Stafford Field.
A four-run third inning gave Rhinelander 2 a brief 5-4 lead, but Laser Pros came roaring back with four runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, four in the sixth and three in the seventh.
Rhinelander 2 staved off an early defeat via the 10-run rule by scoring a pair of runs in the sixth. Abe Laggis walked, stole second, took third on a throwing error and scored on a Brad Quade grounder to short. Quade reached on a throwing error and eventually scored on a passed ball.
There was production up and down Laser Pros' 10-player lineup. Eight of the 10 players recorded hits and all 10 scored at least one run. Nathan Cogar, Tait Spencer, Bryce Schickert, Alex Kubeny and Isaiah Piosalan each recorded two hits in the contest. Schickert stole three bases and scored three runs.
Schickert pitched into the sixth for Laser Pros, allowing seven runs on three hits, while striking out seven.
Matthew Reinthaler inherited a two-on, nobody-out jam in the sixth and promptly mowed down the next six batters - the last five via the strikeout - to close out the game.
Brad Quade and Jon Huempfner split the pitching duties for Rhinelander 2 and combined to strike out eight batters. Quade, Eric Grulke and Brad Orth were credited with hits for Rhinelander 2.
