Steam from the stack of the portable sawmill clouds the face of the gentleman in the center but the frosty faces of his coworkers are visible in this scene from the town of Parrish around 1910. With gloves worn and ragged and pants crusted with snow, these loggers had no choice but to brave the winter weather to get their job done. The frigid weather, however, didn't keep the man on the left from smoking his pipe! Standing on the platform: Elmer G. Torbenson and Gustav Solem. Other loggers are, from left to right, Ole Thoe, Elif Peterson, Sivren Froland, Ed Froland, Ed Thoe, Ole Peterson and Thores Moen.
