Peoples will completely renovate the 2,700 square-foot space to create a stand-alone, full-service branch.
The new facility is slated to open in late summer and will feature a new design of the teller area for improved customer service, addition of safe deposit boxes with a private viewing room, drive-up service, night drop, private offices, dedicated bathrooms and a reserved conference room that creates more privacy for customers when closing loans and meeting with wealth management specialists.
"We've outgrown our current location," said Tom Knudsen, northern market president for Peoples. "We made a commitment back in 2001 when Peoples first opened in Eagle River to serve as an exceptional bank supporting the community's needs. We are continuing that promise with a new facility," said Knudsen.
Peoples' Eagle River branch has grown by a 31 percent increase in deposits over the past year, serving 1,339 households and holds the No. 1 mortgage market share in Vilas County. "Our staff has been extraordinary in attracting and adding growth to our bank, so much so that it has precipitated our need for a larger facility," Knudsen said.
"With Amy Young as branch manager, Val Dreger as mortgage lender, and Denise Jantzen as commercial banker, we have the right people in the right location to meet the growing demands of our customers," noted Knudsen.
"We're looking forward to this new location," said Young. "Trig's is a great destination place for many residents, and we are happy to be on the same property, just across the parking lot," she said. "The increased accessibility for our customers will be an advantage with easier parking and fast access to the building.
"We are also happy to have more space than the previous grocery store model, so we can provide increased privacy for our customers," said Young.
Trig's plans to reclaim the vacated branch space to expand the grocery store. Construction and renovation has already begun on Peoples' new leased space using Northwoods general contractor Teschendorf & Shrock Inc. Opening is planned for late summer.
