Rhinelander-3 15, Rhinelander-1 10
It was a back and forth game between two Rhinelander teams Tuesday evening with Rhinelander 3 outdueling Rhinelander 1 by a score of 15-10 in Northwoods Babe Ruth Senior League play at Stafford Field.
Rhinelander 3 took the early lead 3-1 after the first inning and held it through most the game.
Rhinelander 1 put up four runs to take a 5-3 third inning leading but Rhinelander 3 answered back with eight runs in the bottom of the inning.
In the top of the fifth inning Rhinelander 1 scored five runs which made it a one-run game. Rhinelander 3's ability to respond was the deciding factor as it scored three runs in the fifth inning to take a 14-10 advantage.
Rhinelander 3 would score one more run in the sixth inning for a final score of 15-10.
Jacob DeMeyer got Rhinelander 3 started in the first inning and would lead the way. He finished with 2-for-3, with three stolen bases and three runs. Alec Modrow scored three runs and had a hit and a stolen base. Cole Spaulding also had a nice day, scoring two runs on two hits and taking a stolen base. Danny Zuiker, Logan Wild, Nate Cogar, Jake Wilmot, Jacob Dreifuerst, Max Spaulding and Teagan Guckenberg all scored a run for Rhinelander 3. Wild, Cogar and Connor Lund brought in two runs a piece for Rhinelander 3.
Matthias Schneider, Rhinelander 1's leadoff hitter, was the team's biggest scorer, plating the runs. He also stole three bases and brought in a run. Liam Rappley scored two runs on two hits and brought in three. Asher Johnson scored twice on one hit, recorded one stolen base and one RBI. Martin Hoger scored twice and Bradley Comer accounted for a run. Owen White hit a triple and brought in two runs while Kaden Umland hit a double which scored two runs.

For Rhinelander 1, Owen White and Comer split pitching duties both recording one strikeout.
Rhinelander 3 picked up its first win of the year, moving to 1-2 in the Marquardt Division. Rhinelander 1 fell to 0-3.

Merrill 22, Rhinelander-2 5
A couple of big innings were the difference in Tuesday's second game as Rhinelander 2 fell to Merrill 22-5 in six innings.
After Merrill jumped out to a 9-0 lead, thanks in large part to an eight-run fourth inning, the Hodags staged a rally in the fifth, plating five runs. The momentum was short-lived, however, as Merrill scored 14 runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.
Eric Grulke paced the Rhinelander offense, going 3-for-3 on the night with a run scored and a run driven in. Josh Randolph added two hits, drove in a run and scored a run. Brad Orth and Kamerin Resch also collected hits.
John Huempfner started on the hill and struck out four of 3 2/3 innings as he took the loss. Randolph and Grulke held Merrill without a run in their stints of relief. Alec Kurtz also pitched Tuesday.
The loss was Rhinelander 2's first of the season. It fell to 2-1 in league play.
