Classic car owners are invited to showcase their "prize" cars with the opportunity to win a trophy. There are Driver's Choice, People's Choice, Best of Show, Mayor's Choice, Rhinelander MG-Toyota Choice and Best Paint trophy awards. A nominal fee to register a car is $10 for pre-registration (ends June 6). Fee is $15 the day of the show. Car registration begins at 8 a.m. at Briq's Soft Serve on the corner of Brown and Frederick streets. The first 100 registered car owners receive a T-shirt and a goodie bag of promotional items donated by area businesses. A hospitality area by Dunkin Donuts will be also be available.
Last year Rhinelander attracted over 130 classic cars from around the area. The car show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free to attend. There are raffles and downtown store specials to enjoy. Artists and crafters will also be nearby at the Art on the Courthouse Lawn art show.
Main business supporters include AutoGear, Borel Auto Body, Bucketheads Bar & Grill, Carlson's Funeral Home, CoVantage Credit Union, Culver's, Dr. Natrop, Dunkin Donuts, East Side Automotive, Pioneer Equipment, Quality Collision Center, Rhinelander GM Toyota, and Todd's Automotive.
Several downtown streets are closed for this event, so there will be no overnight parking on Friday, June 12.
