Pelican awarded grant for school garden
Recently, Northwoods L.E.A.N. (Linking Education, Activity, and Nutrition), a coalition through the Oneida County Health Department, awarded a nutrition-based grant in the amount of $1,500 to Pelican Elementary School for creating a school garden.
In the upcoming weeks, Pelican Elementary students and staff will be actively involved in a hands-on learning experience, in hopes of a successful harvest and taste-testing in the fall.
