MadiSalsa ensemble to perform June 6 at Nicolet College
The 11-member band will be the largest to play the Nicolet stage when they feature the musical traditions of Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
"MadiSalsa has the sound of a band that one hardly ever gets to see live," wrote the Capital Times newspaper in a review. "It is unusual to look out onto a stage and see (so many) musicians playing with the kind of sound most usually found in a recording studio."
"Since their formation in 1992, MadiSalsa has been a strong force on the Midwest music scene, performing hundreds of shows and receiving extraordinary reviews. Band members bring a diverse wealth of experience to the group from their previous Latin music activities in San Juan, Los Angeles, and New York," the college said in a press release. "In addition to their critically acclaimed debut recording Del Caribe al Corazón - which caught the attention of music editors at MTV and the Discovery Channel - MadiSalsa's music can be heard on their second CD Se Permite Bailar."
