Nearly 200 people attended ArtStart's biggest fundraiser of the year. They enjoyed a delicious meal while watching models - children, women, men and dogs - display various outfits.
"It was fantastic, we had a great turnout," said Ken Juon, president of ArtStart's Board of Directors.
The fashion show has been held for 10 years, but this is the third year ArtStart has hosted it.
The models showed off outfits that ranged from fun summer clothes to formal and athletic wear.
"I really enjoyed the kids' clothes," said guest Victoria Houston. "I've enjoyed some of what the guys are wearing, there's a great formal dress."
She also liked the floral dress.
"I think the models have been terrific," she said. "I also think the selection of prizes here has been wonderful."
Houston found the models to be "darling."
ArtStart has made a point of making the fashion show more accessible, displaying fashions that suit multiple tastes.
"We're trying to expand (to a wider audience) as well and get the guys involved in that as well," Juon said.
Several guests said they like that the fashion show has been expanded to include men and children.
"I really like the fact now that they are opening up to both to male and female and making it a nice dinner event," said JoAnn Olson, guest.
She and her husband, Dr. Gary Olson, were celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary at the show.
"It's a wonderful event, everybody has a great time, we have fun and it supports a great cause," she said.
Her husband agreed.
"This is a wonderful event that more and more people who are interested in the arts should be aware of because it's a great way to work a fundraiser to establish the arts community in Rhinelander," said Dr. Gary Olson.
He and his wife said they enjoyed meeting a variety of people with similar interests at the show.
"It's great for the arts, which is the most important part, and it's a fun adventure. We've met different people who were really nice and we're getting along and it turns out we have a lot in common," he said.
Houston has attended the fashion show for five years and said she thought this one was a success.
"This is the best ever, they have excellent music, the band is terrific," she said.
Those in attendance were pleased to support ArtStart and the many programs it offers.
"This is another example of the kind of community support that we've enjoyed from the very beginning and we're much appreciative of that support," Juon said.
