Worm race, Dall performance highlight upcoming schedule at the Rhinelander District Library
Baby Storytime
The Rhinelander District Library's summer session of Baby Storytime is in progress. This storytime is conducted on Mondays at 10:15 a.m. Designed for young ones ages 6 months to 2 years of age, this 20-minute program consists of simple stories, fingerplays, and music. A social/play time follows each program.
Preschool Programs
Two programs for preschoolers are scheduled at the Rhinelander District Library on Thursday, July 30. A 20-minute Parent/Tot Time program for children age 2 to 3 1/2 who are accompanied by an adult begins at 10 a.m. in the children's department.
A 40-minute Story Time program for children age 3 1/2 to 6 is scheduled for 10 a.m. in the library meeting room. At the completion of the programs, caregivers and children from both groups will gather together to do a simple craft.
Worm Race
Calling all worm racers! The 27th Annual Great Library Worm Race will be crawled on Tuesday, July 28 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. outside the Rhinelander District Library.
Worm racing teams need to register with the Northwoods Worm Racing Federation by visiting the children's department or by calling (715) 365-1070, extension 2.
There is a limit of 60 teams.
This program is sponsored by the Northwoods Lions Club.
Dave Dall & Friends at Buck Lake
The Rhinelander District Library will host a musical program on Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. at Buck Lake featuring Dave Dall & Friends. Families can enjoy the lake and some great children's music. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held in the library meeting room.
Preschool Picnic in the Park
The children's department invites the preschool storytime groups, older siblings and friends to a picnic at Pioneer Park from 10:30 a.m. until noon Thursday, Aug. 6. The group will gather at Pioneer Park Shelter #2, (near the playground).
Children may dress up as their favorite superhero for this event. Families should bring their own lunch, the library will provide drinks and a dessert. Registration is required. Stop by the library or call (715) 365-1070 ext. 2.
