"Thank you to Chip, Jayne and the staff at Pinewood Country Club for hosting the event and everything you did to make the day exceptional," the Y stated in a press release.
Twenty-two teams participated in the scramble. Team Matrix - Schtud Boys (Chris Fish, Rob Johnson, Dave Morgan and Brett Salscheider) took first place in the event. Second place went to Team Down Towners (Scott Henrichs, Dave Havel, Mark Gutteter and Kurt Hildebrand). Team Schoppe (Kass Schoppe, Bob Thoms, Ken Schoppe and Pat Dalee) came in third.
"Thank you to everyone who attended the scramble," the Y said.
According to the YMCA, money raised at the golf scramble will support its annual support campaign, which makes financial assistance available for children and families who otherwise could not afford to participate in YMCA membership and programs.
Following the scramble, the ball drop raffle was held. Tickets were sold and the golf balls were dropped from a helicopter onto the green. The closest ball to the hole won a cash prize, the second closest won a year family membership to the YMCA, and the third closest won a year adult membership to the YMCA. Jesse Richter was the lucky first-place winner of the raffle and won $1,765.
"It takes businesses and people working together to make a successful event," The Y stated. "Thank you to all our sponsors. Matrix and Ministry Health Care, title sponsors, for making this event possible. Rhinelander GM, Aspirus Clinics, Northland CPA's, Baraboo National Bank, CoVantage Credit Union, Worksite Solutions, Pepsi, Wisconsin Public Service, Star Journal/Hodag Buyer's Guide, and Vilas County News Review and Wickersham Jewelry. Thank you to Dunkin' Donuts for donating donuts and donut holes for the continental breakfast and area businesses that donated outstanding raffle items and their continued support. We appreciate our volunteers and everyone who helped to make the 15th Annual Golf Scramble a success. It is because of the time, talent, and treasures donated that the Y is able to deliver its mission to the community."
