Little League: Hodag All-Stars 10-run Wausau National
The Hodags took the early lead scoring one run in the first inning when Leo Losch came around to score as a special pinch runner for Sam Schneider. The Hodags shut out the Nationals in the first two innings before giving up a sole run in the third inning. The bats came to life for the Hodags in the third inning with Evan Sedlacek, Layne Roeser, Ryan Jamison and Kolby Ridderbusch all crossing home plate. The Hodags held the Nationals without a run in the next two at bats, before the bats came alive again to put away the Nationals on the 10-run rule. Roeser, Schneider, Jamison, Ridderbusch, Mason Davis and Cal Laggis all scored, bringing the final score to 11-1.
The Hodags had Jamison on the mound. Jamison pitched all five innings in a stellar performance. He struck out eight batters, walked three and allowed only one hit in the game.
On the offensive side of the ball the Hodags were more than productive.
Sedlacek scored one run on two hits. Schneider scored one on two hits, one of which was a double. Jamison scored twice on one hit. Ridderbusch scored twice, hitting a double and drawing a walk. Davis scored one run on one hit and Cal Laggis and Leo Losch both scored runs.
The Hodags now advance in the winner's bracket and will face Wausau American July 14 in Wausau.
