June Yards of the Month announced
The winner of the Commercial Yard of the Month is Evergreen Manor, located at 411 W. Phillip Street in Rhinelander.
Kathleen Haverkampf of 321 Hillandale Street is the June winner for Traditional Yard of the Month.
The Blooming Yard of the Month for June was awarded to Mike Olsen and Sue Rasmussen of 20 West Itasca Street.
The Yard of the Month program, now in its sixth year, was started by the city of Rhinelander to recognize homeowners and residents whose properties beautify their neighborhoods by improving curb appeal. Residential award winners receive an award certificate, Yard of the Month sign, and a $50 credit from the city on their next water bill. Commercial Yard of the Month winners do not receive financial compensation.
Sponsored by the city of Rhinelander, the program is a collaboration with Master Gardeners of the North, who provide the judges, and the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce, which handles publicity and accepts the Yard of the Month nominations.
