The James Williams Middle School wrestling team hosted a seven-team Central Wisconsin Wrestling Conference meet Monday at the JWMS Gymnasium.
Nineteen grapplers took part for the Hodags, with five taking first place in their divisions. Walker Hartman and Josh Randolph each went 3-0 with three pins Monday; Dante Steinmetz was 3-0 with two pins; and Tim Fox and Isaac Bixby each went 1-0 to claim first-place finishes.
Runner-up finishes went to Hunter Greyhair, Chase Redmond, Jesse Mahner, John Cook, Isiah Piosalon and Kyle Kuester. Autumn Pond, Connor Lund and Anthony Kowalski each finished third. Finishing fourth for the Hodags were Trevor Knapp, Robert Towne, Eddie Bauer, Cooper Vieaux and Eric Grulke.
RBA 8th graders win Phillips tourney
The Rhinelander Basketball Association's eighth grade boys traveling team remains undefeated at 7-0 after taking first place at a tournament Jan. 10 in Phillips.
