The Northwoods Children's Museum (NCM) will hold its mad, mad, Mad Tea Party on Saturday, Jan. 24. This beloved annual event takes place in a wonderland-like setting with a cast of characters from down the rabbit hole. Party guests will be treated to special tea courtesy of Green Rich Tea in St. Germain and served by owners Noritake and Shanna Stein. Museum volunteers will also be on hand to present guests with homemade sweet delights and fun activities. Bright festive wear is encouraged.

"This is a great opportunity for parents to have a special outing with their children," commented Rouleen Gartner, NCM executive director. "We've designed the event to be both family and gender-friendly."

Four tea times are available at 11 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Cost is $5/person advance ticket purchase; $7/person at door if available. Admission is also required for non-members.

"We can accommodate large groups," said Gartner. "But seats fill up fast so be sure to call early to get the best choices."

Wonderland-themed craft workshops are available one-hour prior to each tea time. Children can create a wonderful keepsake of the event and create their own mad hat, crown or scepter that can be worn during the event, or a tea cup or cookie plate. There is a small cost for each craft selected.

To register for the tea party, or for more information, call the museum at (715) 479-4623.
