Rhinelander native Bryan Cook approaches the finish line of the 42nd annual Swix American Birkebeiner, finishing 14th overall (out of 3,729 skiers) and fifth in his age group in the 51k Birkebeiner Skate in a time of 2:21:47.7.

The annual race from Cable to Hayward was held Saturday, Feb. 21. See Thursday's edition for results from area competitors.
