NLAC is a competitive swim team that is a member of USA swimming and has USA registered coaches.
"It's a great opportunity for these swimmers to compete in different pools outside of their conference, be on relay teams with kids from other clubs they normally compete against," said NLAC coach Jenny Heck. "It also gives them a chance to see where their times are in comparison to other swimmers from bigger cities and clubs, some of which have year-round programs. It's a fun meet to participate in along with being a great competitive experience."
Although some swimmers will end their season with this meet, there are a few who will continue their training. Currently, four swimmers in the 12 and under age group have qualified and will be training for the state meet to be held in Waukesha the weekend of Feb. 27. Another group of qualifiers will be looking a little farther ahead and will be practicing for their competition at the Midwest Regional swim meet held at the University of Minnesota the end of March.
