Hockey roundup: RIA Squirts qualify for state 3A tournament
The WAHA Squirt 3A tournament will be held March 14 and 15 in Minocqua.
All four other RIA teams were knocked out of the playdowns by
the eventual region
champion.
The Hodag Bantam team lost to Marshfield 4-1 in the championship game and the Peewee A team fell to Marshfield 5-3 in the title game.
The Squirt Bs lost to Lakeland 3-2 in overtime in the semifinals while the Peewee Bs suffered a 3-2 loss to Marshfield in the semifinal round.
The RIA is hosting a Squirt A and Peewee A tournament this weekend at the Rhinelander Ice Arena. Play began Friday night and will conclude Sunday afternoon.
