Rhinelander Furniture and Mattress Outlet ready to offer a locally-owned option
The shop, which is located at 25 North Brown Street, is a locally-owned furniture and mattress store offering a wide variety of rustic decor to furnish any Northwoods home, cabin or apartment.
Some may find the store's name familiar, that's because it's owned by Joyce Fredrickson, who also owns a similar store in Tomahawk.
The decision to open the Rhinelander store was an easy one, Fredrickson said.
"It's closer for me to drive," she said with a laugh.
Actually, Fredrickson said she opened the Rhinelander store in an effort to give the public a locally-owned option when shopping for furniture and mattresses.
"We wanted to give people more options instead of just the big box stores," she said.
"It gives people a local option. We're locally owned and operated."
The store offers all manner of home furnishings, from lamps to couches to mattresses, and more stock is on the way. Those coming in to take a peek at the merchandise, as the store begins to spread its wings, will find slashed prices on everything. The sale prices will be in effect until the store's grand opening celebration scheduled for the first two weeks of April.
"We are priced for a new start - just to show people what we have, our large variety," Fredrickson said.
"We've got mattresses, dining sets, bedrooms sets, sofas, recliners, love seats, lift chairs - anything you'd want to furnish a home. And it's all Northwoodsy stuff."
That rustic look is something Fredrickson hopes to specialize in, though the store will also feature more contemporary pieces as well.
"It's all a little more rustic than you'll find anywhere else," she said.
"We're going to be getting in more contemporary stuff, more traditional stuff, but right now most of it is rustic. We're going for a more rustic theme."
The store's website has not yet gone live. Fredrickson said people can call or email her with inquiries until the site is up and running.
The store's phone number is (715) 369-7378. The email address is [email protected].
