Rhinelander Swim Club wins CWSC Divisional championship
"This was a great victory for the Rhinelander Swim Club," coach Megan Cihla noted. "The 10 and under swimmers did exactly what we needed them to do. They swam their hearts out and got RSC into second place, putting us in the perfect position going into day two of the divisional meet. The 11 and over swimmers swam incredibly fast and were able to clinch the divisional championship on Sunday."
Abi Winnicki added to the excitement by breaking the conference record in the girls 8 and under 100-yard freestyle by 3.4 seconds with a new record time of 1:12.65.
When asked about the new record and the club's performance overall Cihla said, "Abi did an amazing job executing the technical things we had been working on in practice to break the record."
The top nine finishers in individual events and the top six relay teams advance to the conference championship meet this weekend in Phillips.
